The usual hook. Watson unwitting assistant. Holmes at his best. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle transcends over a century. I thought I had read all of Holmes but somehow I have missed this one. Excellent read.
I love Sir Arthur's books and even as short story,it has his flair.Enjoyable to those who never read his work,or eye opening to how his work can stand in a shorter version..Believe will be good for new generation of Sherlock fans
Holmes is dying. Mrs. Hudson sends for Dr. Watson to do one final service for him. A superb story, as usual.
Although I figured it all out too soon. I still loved this. Even for a short story everything fits the characters.
A well-crafted adventure of Sherlock Holmes. An engaging read, but Doyle uses the device of introducing something which the reader has no hope of knowing about while he solves the mystery. He's a splendid writer with the frustrating habit of tarnishing the enjoyment I take in attempting to use my own deductive abilities to solve the crime by adding something "from out of left field" as it were. Nonetheless, a very engaging read.
I have always loved the writing of sir Arthur Conan Doyle. As expected, this story was great. Holmes, as usual is at his best.
One of the BEST books I've read in a long time! Bravo to the author, hope to have the privileged of reading more of your books in the future. We had romance, mystery, intrigue, excitement, and most of well extremely well written grammar!
